Earlier this week, South Africa’s financial watchdog categorised cryptocurrency assets as financial products, allowing them to be regulated and legally traded. After gaining popularity from having Kendall Jenner wear one of their ‘J’adore cowboys’ t-shirts, the British fashion brand, Cowboys of Habit, has continued to sell out. According to Vogue, “Cowboys of Habit has been struggling to meet demand for its tongue-in-cheek designs, which are based on meme culture, pop culture references and slogans.” Check them out.

There’s been a lot of talk about how and who Gen Zs are professionally, but few get it right. But when the source is TikTok, you’re more likely to find the truth. In a world where it’s become virtually impossible to communicate, informally at least, without emojis, the ambiguity of such communication media continues to widen the gap between Gen Zs, the emoji generation, and older generations—especially at work. Axios wrote a really thorough analysis on this emoji divide that’s worth checking out.

Flove, founded by Girabawe Gloria, is a Rwandan-based fashion social enterprise that manufactures eco-friendly, reusable handbags driven by our social commitment to uplift the livelihoods of teenage mothers in Rwanda. The company is challenging the predominant culture around teenage pregnancies in Rwanda and enforcing self-esteem in young Black women who purchase or help make Flove’s products.
