The Journey to Shaping Our Own Future

Inside: ATTO TETTEH in Z-Brand Spotlight

🧘‍♀️ Zen Note

Recent news has highlighted the early life crisis faced by Gen Z members, mainly due to the challenging experiences and workplace expectations mounted on us by employers who have already dismissed us as a difficult generation to work with. Growing up in a hyper-connected world that questions your identity, coupled with the uncertainties surrounding our career prospects and the immense pressure to succeed, can foster feelings of inadequacy. In addition, the difficulties we face while working with employers who lack inclusivity or fail to recognise the value of our contributions can exert a significant mental strain, thereby triggering a crisis.

In this situation, there’s more than meets the eye. Gen Z is not only criticised for establishing boundaries but also for striving for a harmonious work-life balance. In response to the ongoing debate between the younger and older generations in the workforce, I wonder whether it’s not the older generation that’s difficult to work for since requesting time off or seeking fair compensation, for example, should not be a call for alarm.
